Here are some good general troubleshooting tips that resolve a wide variety of error messages, install problems and other issues.

If previously installed, please uninstall the program. Uninstall the program by using the Add/Remove Programs function found in your Control Panel.

If you have Win9x, ME, you may need to download and install the latest version of Windows installer for Win9x, ME. You can find this installer at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=32831

The CD may have static on it. You may need to run the CD under warm water and rub it gently with your fingertips. To dry the CD, dab it with a paper towel, be careful not to rub the CD it will become scratched. Let the CD sit until completely dry and try to run the install again.

Apply the critical updates for your Windows Operating System from Microsoft at: http://www.microsoft.com Click on Downloads and then select Windows Update from the drop down menu. Click on scan for updates. Download and install the Critical updates for your computer.

You can try to improve your computers performance by doing a scandisk and defrag.
In Windows 9x/ME, go to START | Programs | Accessories | System Tools. Select Scan disk - make sure your hard drive is selected.
In Windows XP, go to START | Programs | Accessories | System Tools Disk Cleanup. Depending on the last time you did this - it could possibly run for up to a few hours.
Next Go to START | Programs | Accessories | System Tools. Select Defrag. This will put your hard drive in logical order and repair errors. This should optimize your hard drive for best performance.

Reboot your computer.

Disable any anti-virus program, and reinstall the program.
