 When I insert the CD/DVD or launching game, Notepad appears with a bunch of text:

When I insert the CD or try to launch the game,
Notepad appears with a bunch of text:

This is an issue when HTA files have been set to open with Notepad rather
than the Microsoft HTA Application Host on your computer. To correct this,
follow the below steps:

Steps to follow when you see this issue when trying to install the game.
Inserting the Disk

(If seeing this issue when trying to run the program see the steps further
below)

1. Insert the CD or DVD into your computer.
2. Close the Notepad window when it appears.
3. Click on the Windows Start button.
4. Click on Computer. A new window will appear. The program’s CD should
be listed in this window.
5. Right click on the CD’s icon and select Explore. A new window will
appear with a bunch of files.
6. Find the file named Launch or Launch.hta and right
click on the file’s name. This will open an options menu.
7. Click on the Open With option. A new window will appear. The window
should list the file Launch.hta near the top. With a list of programs
in a box below it.
8. Look for a program in that list called Microsoft (R) HTML Application
host. If it is listed, click on it to select it, make sure the “Always
use the selected program to open this kind of file” box is check marked,
then click Ok. This should fix the issue. If Microsoft (R) HTML Application
host is not listed, go to step 9.
9. If it is not listed, click on the Browse button. This will bring up a new
window.
10. Copy and paste the following text into the address bar at the top of this
window and press the Enter key:

C:\Windows\System32

11. This will bring up a list of files and folders in that window. Scroll down
the list and look for mshta. Click on this file to highlight it then click
the Open button.
12. This will close the window and Microsoft (R) HTML Application host should
now be listed in the Open With box. Click on it to select it, make sure
the “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” box is
check marked, then click Ok. This should fix the issue.

Steps to follow if you see this issue when you attempt to run the game.

1. Find the shortcut either on the desktop or in the Start Menu
Right-click on the file’s name. This will open an options menu.
2. Click on the Open With option. A new window will appear. The window
should list the file Launch.hta near the top. With a list of programs
in a box below it.
3. Look for a program in that list called Microsoft (R) HTML Application
host. If it is listed, click on it to select it, make sure the “Always
use the selected program to open this kind of file” box is check marked,
then click Ok. This should fix the issue. If Microsoft (R) HTML Application
host is not listed, go to step 9.
4. If it is not listed, click on the Browse button. This will bring up a new
window.
5. Copy and paste the following text into the address bar at the top of this
window and press the Enter key:

C:\Windows\System32

6. This will bring up a list of files and folders in that window. Scroll down
the list and look for mshta. Click on this file to highlight it then click
the Open button.
7. This will close the window and Microsoft (R) HTML Application host should
now be listed in the Open With box. Click on it to select it, make sure
the “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” box is
check marked, then click Ok. This should fix the issue.
