Ground rendered black on ATI 4800 series of video cards

This isn’t a bug in the game. ATI doesn't support OpenGL 3.0 on the
4800 series. OpenGL 3 is required to run a rendering path other than ARB.

See the 4800 specifications on ATI's web site 4800 series Open GL Specs.

"Please Click the tech specs tab, then page 2. Notice ATI only lists
OpenGL 2.1 support on the 4800 series cards."

ATI only lists OpenGL 2.1 support on the 4800 series cards. Without a full
implementation of OpenGL 3 on the ATI 4800 cards, there are going to be game
features that are available on other cards that the current ATI 4800 drivers
do not support.

ATI offers support of Open GL on 3800 series of video cards but not on the
4800 series.

In this case, ARB's going to the most appropriate rendering path.

You will need to select a different rendering path so the ground is not
rendered black
